Home euthanasia visits for dogs and cats in Littlehampton

Our service is designed for families who want a peaceful home visit rather than travelling to a practice. We support both dogs and cats, keeping the appointment calm and carefully explained, so your pet stays settled while you feel informed and supported.

Why a home visit can feel more manageable

Many pets become distressed by car journeys, unfamiliar smells or busy surroundings, which can make an already emotional time feel harder. Being at home can reduce disruption for your dog or cat, while also giving families privacy to be together. This option can also help owners who do not drive, or who find travel difficult, as support comes to your door.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we begin with a gentle conversation about what to expect, and you are welcome to ask questions at any point. The visit is unhurried, with time to help your pet remain comfortable and time for you to move at a pace that feels right. Appointments are up to 1 hour 30 minutes long.

Urgent requests

Urgent appointments, including same-day visits where possible, are offered subject to availability. If you feel your pet may need support soon, getting in touch early can help us explore the most suitable appointment option.

Aftercare options

Following the farewell, families usually choose one of three routes. You may decide to keep your pet at home for home burial. You may choose cremation arranged through Gentle Paws Farewell. You may also prefer to organise aftercare through a preferred provider.

Individual cremation and ashes returned

With individual cremation, your dog or cat is cremated separately. If ashes returned are selected, ashes are given to you afterwards. This option includes a scatter tube.

Communal cremation with no ashes returned

With communal cremation, pets are cremated together and ashes are not returned. Some families prefer this option because it keeps arrangements simple.

Arranging aftercare independently

If you would rather make your own arrangements, that is completely fine. Let us know what you prefer, and we will keep the home visit calm, clear, and supportive.
